When you start Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003, it may take an unexpectedly long time for the page to appear. This issue occurs the first time that you start InfoPath 2003 after you install InfoPath 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
This issue occurs if the
Solution Cache folder that is on your computer is larger than 8 MB. InfoPath 2003 converts your cached InfoPath forms from the
Solution Cache folder to the
FormCache1 folder when you start InfoPath 2003 SP1 for the first time.
Note The forms cache is called
Solution Cache InfoPath 2003 and it is called
FormCache1 in InfoPath 2003 SP1.

If you quit InfoPath 2003 before the conversion is complete by killing the InfoPath process, the
FormCache1 folder will be emptied of the files. To fully update the cache again, you must manually delete the
FormCache1 folder and then reopen InfoPath 2003 SP1.
To do this, follow these steps:
| 1. | Click Start, click Run, type the following command, and then click OK: "C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\InfoPath" Notes| • | Replace UserName is your Microsoft Windows user name. | | • | Include the quotation marks when you type the path. |
|
| 2. | Right-click FormCache1, and then click Delete. |
| 3. | Start InfoPath 2003 (SP1).
Note You must be patient when you wait for InfoPath to perform the solution cache migration. This slowness will only occur the first time that you start InfoPath after you update to SP1. |
