Article ID: 891570 - Last Review: August 29, 2007 - Revision: 2.2 The PowerFile Changer device does not work when you connect it to your Windows XP SP2-based computer
SYMPTOMS
When you connect a PowerFile C200-series device to your Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer, the device does not work. When you open Device Manager, the device appears to be correctly installed on your computer.
CAUSE
This problem is caused by a bus reset on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) 1394 bus. Every time that a device is connected or removed, the whole bus is reinitialized. Then, the devices are re-enumerated on the bus. Certain IEEE 1394 devices may not be correctly detected when this behavior occurs.
