The Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard is missing from the Communications menu in Windows XP SP2

The Bluetooth File Transfer Wizard is missing from the Communications menu in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2). To locate the Communications menu, click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Communications.

By default, when you upgrade your Windows XP-based computer to Windows XP SP2, third-party or OEM files are not updated or overwritten. This issue may occur when the following conditions are true:

• You have a Bluetooth device and software installed on your computer.
• You upgrade your computer to Windows XP SP2.
• A previously installed Bluetooth driver is provided by a third-party or OEM.

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use the /o command-line switch

To overwrite the third-party or OEM files without a prompt, use the /o command-line switch when you run the Setup program for Windows XP SP2.

Method 2: Update the Bluetooth device driver

To update the Bluetooth device driver, complete the Windows XP SP2 update, and then follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
2. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
3. Right-click your Bluetooth device, and then click Properties.
4. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver.
5. Follow the instructions in the Hardware Update Wizard.
