SYMPTOMS

When you try to add a wireless network to a Microsoft Windows XP Professional-based computer, you may receive the following message:
At least one of your changes was not applied successfully to the wireless configuration.
However, the message is incorrect. All your changes are applied to Windows XP.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Windows XP Professional-based computer already has a network applied to it by Group Policy.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
