Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • You try to restrict access to an Office 2003 document. Then, you try to grant a user access to the document by using a valid SMTP e-mail address format, such as "username@address". When you do this, you may receive the following error message:
E-mail address must be in the form of 'someone@example.com'. The following e-mail address is not valid or could not be resolved: 'username@address'. Verify that this is a valid e-mail address.

However, we have tested this hotfix more extensively on a computer that is running Office 2003 with Office 2003 SP1 installed than we have on a computer that is running Office 2003 without Office 2003 SP1 installed.
