A meeting request is not canceled in your Hotmail or MSN calendar when you delete the meeting in Outlook 2002 or in Outlook 2003

If you cancel a meeting request in your MSN Hotmail calendar or in your MSN, The Microsoft Network, calendar in Microsoft Outlook, the meeting is not canceled. Additionally, the attendees do not receive a meeting cancellation.

This issue may occur if the .Mlog file is missing.

To locate the .Mlog file, locate the following folder in Windows Explorer:

Note The .Mlog file will be recreated when you restart Outlook.

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

1. Quit, and then restart Outlook.
2. Open your Hotmail calendar or your MSN calendar.
3. Click the meeting request that you want to cancel.
4. Click Delete.
5. Click Send cancellation and delete meeting when you receive the following message:
   The attendees have not been notified that this meeting has been canceled. Choose one of the following:
   
   Send cancellation and delete meeting.
   
   Delete without sending a cancellation.
