Article ID: 892476 - Last Review: October 26, 2006 - Revision: 1.5 When you use Ldp.exe to search for Active Directory objects, you cannot expand some Active Directory containers in the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in in Windows 2000
On This PageSYMPTOMSAssume that you use the Ldp.exe tool to query Active Directory for Active Directory object information or for Microsoft Exchange object information in Microsoft Windows 2000. For example, assume that you enter the following information in the Search dialog box in Ldp.exe: CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=company,DC=com If you select One level under Scope, enter (objectClass=container) or (Objectclass=user) next to Filter in the Search dialog box, and then run the query, the Active Directory schema cache may be corrupted. Additionally, when you open the Active Directory Users and Computers Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, you cannot expand some Active Directory containers such as the Users container and the Computers container.
