Symptoms

When you copy very large files between Microsoft Windows 2000-based computers on a network, you may receive stop error messages. For example, you may receive error messages that resemble the following:

Error message 1
0x000000D1 NO_SPIN_LOCK_AVAILABLE in Mrxsmb.sys
Error message 2
0xA IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in Mrxsmb.sys

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
