The Japanese IME may stop responding when you shift focus from one window to another window in Windows XP or in Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You use the Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer or on a Windows 2000-based computer. When you shift focus from one window to another window, the IME may stop responding.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the hotfix that is described in the following article:
894395  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894395/ ) The IME Composition window or the IME Candidate window remains visible even after that window loses focus when you use Japanese IME on a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows 2000

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
