INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Microsoft Project 2003 issue that is fixed in the Project 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated February 10, 2005.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue:

892135 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892135/ ) The "Load summary resource assignments" check box is selected again when you reconnect to an account in Project 2003

This hotfix package also fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

A "SYSTEM ERROR 0x80004005 " error message is displayed in the Microsoft Office Project Server Spooler dialog box when you publish a project to Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 or when you accept updates to a project from Microsoft Office Project Web Access 2003

Consider the following scenario. You publish a project to Project Server 2003, or you accept updates to a project from Project Web Access 2003. A flashing red exclamation point appears next to the Microsoft Office Project Server Spooler icon in the notification area at the far right end of the taskbar. When you double-click the icon, an error message that is similar to the following is displayed in the Error column of the Microsoft Office Project Server Spooler dialog box:
SYSTEM ERROR 0x80004005
Additionally, event messages that are similar to the following are logged in the Application log on the server:

This problem occurs if duplicate Web assignments exist in the MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS table in the ProjectServer database.

Important This hotfix prevents duplicate Web assignments from occurring in the MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS table in the ProjectServer database for new projects. This hotfix does not correct duplicate Web assignments that are present in existing projects. For help with correcting duplicate Web assignments that are present in existing projects, contact Microsoft support.

This hotfix is a Project 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Microsoft Project 2003 SP1 installed.
