This article describes how to modify the check date format to MMDDYYYY on the Vendor Check Register report in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains Payables Management. You can use the RW_DatetoString function to change the format.
Step 3: Replace the Check Date with the new Calculated Field that you created in Step 2:
In the layout of the report, delete the Check Date field from section B of the report. To do this, click the field, and then press DELETE.
In the Toolbox, click the new calculated field, and then drag it to the same location on the layout where the former Check Date field was.
On the File menu, click Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains.
When you are prompted to save the changes to the report layout, click Save.
When you are prompted to save the changes to the report, click Save.
Step 4: Assign security permissions to the modified report
To assign security permissions to the modified report, use one of the following methods.
Method: Security in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0
On the Microsoft Dynamics GP menu, point to Tools, point to Setup, point to Security, and then point to Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports.
In the ID box, type the ID of the user who will print this modified report.
In the Product list, click Microsoft Dynamics GP.
In the Type list, click Reports.
Expand Sales.
Expand the node for the Trial Balance Detail by Period modified.
Click Microsoft Dynamics GP (Modified).
Note A check mark appears at the beginning of the name.
Click Save.
Method: Advanced Security in Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 and 8.0
On the Tools menu, point to Setup, point to System, and then click Advanced Security. If you are prompted, type the system password.
Click View, and then click by Alternate, Modified and Custom.
Expand the following nodes:
Microsoft Dynamics GP
Reports
Purchasing
Then, expand the node for the PM Check Register modified.
Click Microsoft Dynamics GP (Modified).
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Note By default, the current user and company are selected when you start Advanced Security. Any changes that you make are for the current user and company. However, you can select additional users and companies in the Company area and in the User area of the Advanced Security window.
Method: Microsoft Dynamics GP security in Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 and 8.0
On the Tools menu, point to Setup, point to System, and then click Security.
If you are prompted, type the system password.
In the User ID list, click the user ID of the user who will access the report.
For the Product, select Great Plains (select EFT for Payables Management if you are using EFT for Payables Management Product) and in the Type list, click Modified Reports (select Modified Alternate Great Plains Reports if you are using EFT for Payables Management Product for 8.0 or select Modified Alternate Dynamics GP Reports if you are using EFT for Payables Management Product for 9.0).
Note If you have not granted access yet to your EFT Alternate Great Plains PM Check Register report, make sure that you grant security to it first by going to the Security Setup window by using steps 1 to 3 in this method, except that instead of selecting Modified Alternate Great Plains Reports, select Alternate Great Plains Reports first for the EFT for Payables Management Product. After you have done this, you can then grant security to the Modified Alternate Great Plains Reports for the EFT for Payables Management Product.
In the Series list, click Purchasing.
In the Access List box, double-click PM Check Register that you changed, and then click OK. An asterisk appears next to the report name.
Step 5: Print the report
On the Reports menu, click Purchasing, and then click Check Information.
In the Reports list, click Vendor Check Register.
In the Check Information Report Options dialog box, click to clear the Include Multicurrency Info check box.
