Article ID: 894520 - Last Review: March 23, 2005 - Revision: 1.0 The F LOCK key on-screen display does not always appear when you use a Microsoft keyboard
SYMPTOMSWhen you use a Microsoft keyboard that has an F LOCK key, there may be no on-screen display that indicates whether the F LOCK key is on or off. Note When the F LOCK key is off, the function keys (F1, F2, and so on) have new enhanced functions that are mapped to them. When the F LOCK key is on, the function keys have standard functions that are mapped to them that vary according to the program that has focus. By default, the F LOCK key is turned off. WORKAROUNDTo work around this behavior, examine the receiver for your wireless keyboard. Some models may have an indicator light on the receiver that is illuminated when the F LOCK key is on. STATUS
This behavior is by design. MORE INFORMATIONThe following table lists the enhanced functions of the function keys: Collapse this table
