Article ID: 895474 - Last Review: December 3, 2007 - Revision: 2.5 FIX: Memory and resources are not released when you call the Form.Close method on child MDI forms on a computer that has the .NET Framework 1.1 or the .NET Framework 1.1 with SP1 installedOn This PageSYMPTOMSMemory and resources are not released when you call the Form.Close method on child multiple-document interface (MDI) forms in an MDI Microsoft Windows Forms application. This problem occurs on a computer that has the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed. This behavior is contrary to the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) documentation for the Form.Close method. The MSDN documentation for the Form.Close method states that all resources that are created within the form are closed and the form is disposed when you call the Form.Close method. CAUSEThis problem occurs when the child MDI forms have been created, but the Form.Show method has not been called to display the forms.
