On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you run a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 presentation or a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 presentation in Presenter view, some characters may appear as a question mark. For example, a question mark may appear in the body of the Speaker Notes or in the title of Slide Sorter view. Note To use Presenter view, you must run the slide show on a computer that supports multiple monitors. Additionally, you must have the Show Presenter View option turned on in PowerPoint. CAUSEThis issue may occur because Presenter view displays characters by using the Shift-JIS character set instead of the Unicode character set. When a character, such as some double-byte character set characters or the Euro character, in your presentation does not exist in the Shift-JIS character set, a question mark is displayed instead of the character. MORE INFORMATIONTo run PowerPoint on multiple monitors, you must have the monitors correctly connected and configured on your computer. Additionally, you must set PowerPoint to run on multiple monitors. To do this, follow these steps: PowerPoint 2007
PowerPoint 2003
