FIX: Error message when you modify the security of a custom dimension in SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services: "Dimension Security Syntax Error: Set name 48818.79 is not valid"

When you modify the security of a custom dimension in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services, you may intermittently receive an error message that is similar to the following:You experience this problem when the following conditions are true:

• You click the Dimensions tab in a role, and then you click the ellipsis button under Custom Settings for a particular dimension.
• You click OK in the Custom Dimension Security dialog box that appears.
  
  Note You do not make any changes to the list of allowed or denied members.
