Symptoms

Files are not synchronized as expected when you use the File Replication service (FRS) to replicate Distributed File System (DFS) shares in Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.

Additionally, an error message that is similar to the following may be logged in the System event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7031
Date: Date
Time: Time
User: N/A
Computer: Computer_Name
Description: The File Replication Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 1800000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

Resolution

Hotfix information
