How to obtain the hotfix

After you install this hotfix, follow the steps that are listed in the "More Information" section of this article to set the AlwaysAllowSharePointPST registry key and to activate the hotfix.

Note This hotfix only affects how you can create a new Windows SharePoint Services folder in Outlook 2003. If you already have an existing Windows SharePoint Services folder that has been added in Outlook 2003, this hotfix will not affect the Link to Outlook option.

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:

1.	Quit Outlook 2003.
2.	Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
3.	Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook
4.	After you click the subkey that is specified in step 3, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
5.	Type AlwaysAllowSharePointPST, and then press ENTER.
6.	Right-click AlwaysAllowSharePointPST, and then click Modify.
7.	In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
8.	On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
