FIX: An error message is displayed when you remove an application from an ARM processor-based device

SYMPTOMS

When you remove an application by using Remove Programs on an ARM processor-based device, an error message is displayed. The error message states that directories that were not installed as part of the application could not be removed. For example, the \Windows directory could not be removed.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the WCELoad component that is used to expand and install .cab files produces an uninstall log that is not valid.

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.
