Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2000 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2000 fix release.
When you run a query that
uses a hash join in Microsoft SQL Server 2000, a 17883 error may occur. The following error message is logged in the SQL Server error log:
Error: 17883,
Severity: 1, State: 0 The Scheduler 0 appears to be hung. SPID 52, ECID 0, UMS
Context 0x045530B8
Note This problem typically occurs on IA-64-based
computers.

Prerequisites
To apply this hotfix, you must have SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3) and baseline
hotfix 8.00.1007 installed on the computer.
