SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. A Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2-based Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client is configured to use the DhcpSendOptions registry key to send DHCP option 61 as a client ID. However, when the DHCP client sends the client ID to the DHCP server, the DHCP client sends duplicate client IDs for DHCP option 61 and for the media access control (MAC) address of the network adapter. When the DHCP server tries to use the duplicate client IDs, you experience provisioning errors.

Prerequisites

This software update is supported only if all previously issued software updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this software update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this software update.
