SYMPTOMS

An access violation may occur in a Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2-based application if the following conditions are true:

You compile the application by using the Minimize Size or Maximize Speed optimization options.
This optimization option causes an inline expansion of the memcpy function in the generated code.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because incorrect code may be generated for inline expansions of the memcpy function on ARM, MIPS, and SH platforms.

Prerequisites

This software update is supported only if all previously issued software updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this software update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
