How to add a user to the credit card processing service in Small Business Accounting, in Accounting Professional, or in Accounting Express

This article describes how to add a user to the credit card processing service in Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting 2006, in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional, or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express. After you add the user to the credit card processing service, the user must sign up to process credit card transactions.

After the user signs up, the user can perform tasks that are based on the role that is assigned to the user. There are three roles:

• An administrator can perform all tasks.
• A user can process payments and refunds.
• A user who has a Limited User Account can process payments.

All users can run reports.

Add a user to the credit card processing service

Note You must be an administrator to add a user to the credit card processing service.

1. On the Customers menu, point to Credit Card Processing, and then click Manage Credit Card Processing. The Connect to cc.service.microsoft.com dialog box appears.
2. In the E-mail address box, type your .NET e-mail address. In the Password box, type your .NET password. Click OK.
3. Click the User Settings tab.
4. Click Add User.
5. In the First name box, type the user’s first name. In the Last name box, type the user’s last name.
6. In the User Role area, select the role that you want to assign to the user.
7. In the Access PIN box, type a six-digit PIN, and then click OK.

Have the user enroll in the credit card processing service

1. On the Customers menu, point to Credit Card Processing, and then click Sign up for Credit Card Processing. The Connect to cc.service.microsoft.com dialog box appears.
2. In the E-mail address box, type your .NET e-mail address. In the Password box, type your .NET password. Click OK.
3. In the Access PIN box, type the PIN, and then click Next.
4. On the Contact information page, type the contact information for the user, and then click Next.
5. Click Finish.
