SYMPTOMS

After you quit Microsoft Visio 2002, Visio 2002 automatically restarts without any prompting.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you must update the registry settings for Visio 2002. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Log on to the computer by using a user account that has administrator permissions.
  3. Click Start, click Run, click Browse, and then locate Visio.exe. Typically, the Visio.exe file is located in the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio10
  4. Click Visio.exe, and then click Open.
  5. Position the pointer to the right of the text and the quotation marks in the Open box.
  6. Type /r so that the text in the Open box is similar to the following:
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio10\Visio.exe" /r
  7. Click OK.
