This update provides the Junk E-mail Filter in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with a more current definition of those e-mail messages which should be considered junk e-mail. This update was released in October 2005.

You do not have to install this update if you have a later version of the Outlfltr.dat file that is listed in the table.
Note It has been reported that the 1.4.2607.0 version of the Outlfltr.dll file that is included with this update resolves a memory leak in the Outlfltr.dll 1.2.32 file. This behavior may impact any MAPI program that uses IMessage::SaveChange in Outlook 2003. For example, this behavior may impact archiving solutions. If you have problems running a MAPI program with Outlook 2003, please contact the manufacturer of the software package for support. In some instances, they may recommend that you install this update to resolve the problem.
