How to set the widescreen or standard display format on your Xbox 360 console

SUMMARY

You can set the screen display format on your Xbox 360 console to Normal or Widescreen.

Note This procedure may vary depending on the type of audio visual (AV) cable and the type of display that you use.

To set the screen display format, follow these steps:
  1. Start your Xbox 360 console without a disc in the disc tray.
  2. In the System section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Console Settings.
  3. In the Console Settings area, select Display.
  4. In the Display Settings area, select Screen Format.
  5. In the Screen Format area, select Normal or Widescreen, and then press the A button on the controller or remote control.
Note When you use the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable, the screen format settings are automatically configured.
