How to change themes for the Dashboard on your Xbox 360 console

This article describes how to personalize the Xbox 360 Guide and the Xbox 360 Dashboard using themes.

To use a theme, follow these steps:

On the New Xbox Experience dashboard:

1. Turn on the Xbox 360 console, and then sign in to your profile.
2. In the My Xbox channel, select your profile slot and press A.
3. Select Change Theme.
4. Select one of the themes available.

On the Legacy Xbox dashboard:

1. Turn on the Xbox 360 console, and then sign in to your profile.
2. Press the Xbox 360 Guide button on your Xbox 360 Controller or remote control.
3. Go to Settings, select Profile, and then select Change Theme.
   Note: If you are using the version of the dashboard from before the New Xbox Experience Update, instead select Personal Settings, and then select Themes.
4. Select one of the default themes.

You can also use a custom image as a background.
