Every time that you restart a computer that is running Microsoft Windows CE 5.0, the number of notifications in the system notification database increases.
The DCOM library makes a request for notification of certain events when it is loaded. This problem occurs because the DCOM library does not check to see whether the notification already exists. DCOM restarts when you reset the computer, but the notification database persists when you restart the computer.

Restart requirement
After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click
Clean on the
Build menu. To build the platform, click
Build Platform on the
Build menu. You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.
