This component update installs the Windows Media Player 10 components. This lets you build Windows XP Embedded runtimes that include Windows Media Player 10. This component update includes support for the localization of Windows Media Player 10. This component update also disables the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component by setting it to the end-of-life state. Important If you install this component update, the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component will no longer be available. Additionally, configurations that include the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component will not build without upgrading to Windows Media Player 10. If you still require the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component, do not install this component update.
