Availability of the Windows Media Player 10 component update for Windows XP Embedded with Service Pack 2Article ID: 907507 - View products that this article applies to. INTRODUCTIONThe Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 component update for
Microsoft Windows XP Embedded with Service Pack 2 is available. This component update installs the Windows Media Player 10 components. This lets you build Windows XP Embedded runtimes that include Windows Media Player 10. This component update includes support for the localization of Windows Media Player 10. This component update also disables the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component by setting it to the end-of-life state. For more information about end-of-life components, visit the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa460533.aspx Important If you install this component update, the Windows Media Player 8
Technologies component will no longer be available. Additionally,
configurations that include the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component
will not build without upgrading to Windows Media Player 10. If you still
require the Windows Media Player 8 Technologies component, do not install this
component update.
