This article describes a problem where two of the lights on the front of your Xbox 360 console flash red. We've provided things that you can try to resolve the problem.

This problem may occur when the Xbox console is too hot or is overheating. The flashing lights mean that the internal temperature of your Xbox 360 console has exceeded acceptable temperature limits.

To try to prevent this problem, use the following precautions:
| • | Don't block any ventilation openings on your Xbox 360 console. |
| • | Don't put your Xbox 360 console on a bed, on a sofa, on a carpet floor, or on any other soft surface that may block ventilation openings. |
| • | Don't put your Xbox 360 console in a confined space, such as a bookcase, a rack, or a stereo cabinet, unless the space is well ventilated. |
| • | Don't put your Xbox 360 console near any heat source, such as a radiator, a heat register, a stove, or an amplifier. |
