MORE INFORMATION

You can restrict access to your gamer profile information by using the Privacy Settings option on the Edit Profile screen. The following fields let you set the parts of your profiles that are public facing:
Gamer Profile Info
You can control who can see your gamer profile information, such as online achievements and game history. You can select Everyone, Friends Only, or Blocked.
Note This field only restricts achievements and game history. The ability to compare games is not affected by this field.
Gamer Profile Customization
You can control who can see customizations, such as the motto on your gamer card. You can select Everyone, Friends Only, or Blocked.
Presence
You can set your online presence so that you appear offline for everyone but your friends.
Custom Gamer Card
You can select Me, Friends, Recent Players, or Everyone.
Games Played
You can select Me, Friends, Recent Players, or Everyone.
Profile Activity Showcase (Presence)
You can select Me, Friends, Recent Players, or Everyone.

Notes

By default, each of these fields is set to Everyone.
A gamer card becomes a "custom" game card when the motto is changed.
Friends include any players who have an outstanding friend request from the profile owner.
A standard gamer card and player review details are always public. These cannot be hidden by using privacy settings or by using parental controls. A standard gamer card shows the gamertag, gamer picture, gamer zone, gamerscore, and reputation.

Configuration

The privacy and friend settings are located in the System section of the Xbox Dashboard under Family Settings. To make any changes to the Family Settings of a child’s profile, you must first sign in to the child’s profile. You will also have to know the Windows Live ID credentials (the e-mail address and password that you use to sign in with the Windows Live ID) for the parent’s Windows Live ID account. The parent’s Windows Live ID account determines the access to Family Settings in the console. You can also adjust privacy settings from the Edit profile menu or from Xbox.com for non-parentally controlled Xbox LIVE accounts.

To configure the privacy and friend settings, follow these steps:

For non-child profiles on Xbox 360

1.Sign in to an Xbox LIVE profile either from the Xbox Guide menu or from the console dashboard.
2. Select the gamer card icon that displays your gamerscore and current status, and then press A.
3. On the Gamer Profile screen, select Edit Gamer Profile, and then press A.
4. On the Edit Gamer Profile screen, select Privacy Settings, and then press A.
5.Note This step will end your current game session or activity, so you may want to save game progress, if that's necessary, before you continue.

Review the message, and then select Yes to exit your current session.
6. On the Privacy Settings screen, you can adjust your privacy setting. Then, press A to confirm the changes. Press B to exit each privacy settings category that you select or to exit the Privacy Settings screen.

For non-child profiles through Xbox.com

1.Visit the Xbox.com Web site at, http://www.xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com). Click Sign in at the top of the page if you are not signed in automatically.
2.Click the gamercard on the top-right of the screen or double-click My Xbox on the drop-down menu near the top of the page to view My Xbox Web page.
3.Select Manage Profile from the My Xbox screen or from the drop-down menu.
4. Select Privacy Settings.
5.Adjust your account's privacy settings as appropriate.
6.Click Save at the bottom of the page when you are done.

For child profiles through the Xbox 360 console

To configure the privacy and friend settings, follow these steps:
1.In the System section, select Family Settings, and then press A.
2.Select Live Control, and then press A. You are prompted to enter the password for the Windows Live ID account that you used when you signed up for Xbox LIVE.
3.Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the appropriate password for the Windows Live ID account.
4.Select Privacy and Friend Settings.
5.On the Privacy and Friend Settings screen, you can select from the following options:
New Online Friends: With this option, you can stop your child from adding friends or from accepting friend invitations.
Communications: With this option, you can restrict access to voice, video, text, personal messages, video messages, game and chat invitations, and postings on Xbox.com for your child.
Online Presence: With this option, you can restrict your child’s presence information (what others can see about your child and what your child can see about others). You can also make your child appear to be offline.
Gamer Profile sharing/viewing: With this option, you can restrict who can view your child’s profile and whether your child can view the profiles of others.
6.Select from the following settings based on the option that you selected in the previous step:
New Online Friends: require approval or child may accept
Communications: everyone, friends only, blocked
Online Presence: everyone, friends only, or blocked
Gamer Profile sharing/viewing: everyone, friends only, or blocked
