Description of the Outlook 2003 post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package: November 7, 2005
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Office 2003 Service Pack 3. MORE INFORMATIONThis hotfix adds functionality that enables Outlook 2003 to examine the size of attachments when a user adds an attachment to a message. This functionality is implemented by using a counter that tracks the total size of attachments that are added to a message in Outlook 2003. When a user tries to add an attachment to a message, Outlook 2003 checks to see whether the size of the attachment that was added to the current value of the counter exceeds the maximum size limit for messages. If the size of the attachment that was added to the current value of the counter exceeds the maximum size limit, the attachment is not added to the message. Additionally, the user receives a message to notify them that the attachment will not be added to the message. Notes
