The Xbox LIVE Marketplace is the console-based source for connecting to Xbox LIVE to download additional content for your Xbox 360 console. This article describes the Xbox LIVE Game Marketplace and the Xbox LIVE Video Marketplace.
To access the Xbox LIVE Game Marketplace or the Xbox LIVE Video Marketplace, you must first sign in to Xbox LIVE as either a Gold or Silver member. When you are signed in, the Game Marketplace and Video Marketplace areas will appear in the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Scroll up or down through the area listings to find the Game Marketplace and Video Marketplace areas.
When you are in the Game Marketplace and Video Marketplace areas, you can scroll horizontally through the area for many content links.
Game Marketplace
The Game Marketplace is separated into the following sections to make finding content easy:
- Arcade
- Game Add-Ons
- Xbox Originals
- Themes & Gamer Pictures
- Indie Games
- Game Demos
- Game Videos
- All Games
By highlighting a category, you can either select a deeper search option, such as
New Arrivals or
Most Popular based on the category selected, or you can go directly to a featured item by selecting it. Or, instead of searching inside a category, you can browse the whole Game Marketplace by selecting the
All Games area or by pressing
Y.
The
Browse option reveals a set of panels that you can use to search for different kinds of content:
- Title: Loads a list of games that begin with the letter that is selected.
- Genre: Loads a list of games based on the genre that is selected.
- Collections: Links to individual category browsing to refine based on the kind of item. This area only appears when you browse the whole Games Marketplace.
When a game or an item is selected in the Marketplace by pressing
A, options are displayed in five separate panels:
- Game: To purchase the game or download a demo, select All Downloads for the title that is selected.
- Featured Downloads: View additional or featured downloadable content for the title that is selected.
- Games Images: Access screen shots, box art, or other images related to the game.
- Details: Obtain information about the developer or the publisher of the game and about the features and requirements of the game.
- Description: A text description of the game.

How to download content for games using Xbox LIVE Marketplace
Video Marketplace
The Video Marketplace provides a selection of the following offerings:
- Movies
- TV Shows
- Music Videos
- Independent Videos
- Game Videos
- All Videos
The following services may be available to you, depending on your region and Xbox LIVE membership:
- Zune on Xbox LIVE (available in most Xbox LIVE regions): Purchase, rent, download, or stream video
- Netflix (United States only): Watch streaming movies by using your Netflix account
- Sky (United Kingdom only): Live TV and video on demand by using your Sky account

A, options are displayed in several separate panels:
- Title: The option to purchase or rent the title in either Standard or High Definition. (This option is not available for all titles.)
- Details: View additional information for the title, including Box Art and rating information.
- Description: A text description of the movie or the TV episode.
- Credits: Detailed information about the cast and crew members of the title (for movies only).
