Redeem prepaid codes for Xbox LIVE content, memberships, or points

This article describes how to enter prepaid codes for an Xbox LIVE membership, Microsoft Points, or anything that can be purchased from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

You can redeem prepaid codes by going to Xbox.com or by using your Xbox 360 console.

To redeem prepaid codes by going to Xbox.com

1. Go to live.xbox.com/RedeemToken (https://live.xbox.com/RedeemToken) .
2. Type the email address and password associated with your Windows Live ID, and then click Sign in.
3. Enter your 25-digit prepaid code.

Depending on the type of prepaid code that you redeem, different things will happen at this point. Here’s what to expect:



To redeem prepaid codes on your Xbox 360 console

1. Sign in to Xbox LIVE with the account for which you want to use the prepaid code.
2. Press the Guide button on your controller.

3. Go to the Marketplace area, and then select Redeem Code.
4. Enter the 25-character prepaid code and select Done.
5. Choose Yes, to confirm the redemption.

Depending on the type of prepaid code that you redeem, different things will happen at this point. Here’s what to expect:



Notes about prepaid codes

• You can only use Xbox 360 membership codes for an Xbox 360 console (they cannot be used for the original Xbox console). However, you can use original Xbox membership codes for an Xbox 360 console.
• You cannot use prepaid codes if your account is suspended or has a past due balance. These issues must be resolved before you can use a prepaid code.
• With a 2 Year Xbox Live Gold Contract, you cannot "stack" or combine subscriptions during the life of the contract. If you cancel the account before the end of the two years, an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes (http://www.xbox.com/support/contract-subscription/en-us/billing/early-termination-fee) will be charged.
