Add or edit Xbox LIVE payment options

Add or edit a payment option

To add a new payment option or edit an existing one, use one of the following methods.

Xbox.com steps:

1.   Go to https://live.xbox.com/account (https://live.xbox.com/account) .

3.   Under Payment & Billing, click Manage Payment Options.

2.   If prompted, sign in using your Windows Live ID email and password.

4.   Click Add a new Credit Card or Pay with PayPal, or click Edit next to an existing payment option.

5.   Follow the on-screen instructions.


Console steps:
  1. On your console, sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  2. Go to the Settings hub and select Account.
  3. Select Manage Payment Options.
  4. Select Add Credit Card to add a new credit card or Update Payment Option to update an existing payment option.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to add a new card or change an existing payment option.
Note You will need to have an existing PayPal account and your PayPal login and password to complete the process.

Change the payment option for a membership


To change the payment option or your Xbox LIVE membership, use one of the following methods.

Console steps:
  1. On your console, sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  2. Go to the Settings hub and select Account.
  3. Go to Your Memberships, and then select the membership that you want to change.
  4. Select Change Payment Option.
  5. Select an existing payment option that you want to change or add a new payment option.
Xbox.com steps:

1.   Go to https://live.xbox.com/account (https://live.xbox.com/account) .

2.   Click Sign In in the upper-right corner and enter your Windows Live ID email and password (if you aren’t already signed in).

3.   Your Xbox LIVE membership information is shown. Click Change next to your payment option, to change your Xbox LIVE membership payment.

4.   Click Apply to Membership next to the payment option that you want to use for your Xbox LIVE membership.

To add another payment option, click PAY with PayPal or Add a new Credit Card. PayPal is not available in all regions. To find out where PayPal is available, please see the following article:

Add or edit payment options when adding Microsoft Points

  1. When you make a purchase from Xbox LIVE Marketplace, select Change Payment Option.
  2. Select Add Credit Card or select an existing credit card, and then select Edit Payment Options.
  3. Enter your new credit card information or edit the existing information.
