Add or edit Xbox LIVE payment options

This article describes how to add or edit payment options associated with an Xbox LIVE account.

To add a new payment option or edit an existing one, use one of the following methods.

Add or edit payment options from the Xbox Dashboard

1. Go to My Xbox and sign in using the Xbox LIVE profile you want to modify.
2. In the Account Management panel, select Manage Account.
3. Select Memberships.
4. Select the membership that you want to change.
5. Select Change Payment Options.
6. Select Add Credit Card or select an existing credit card, and then select Edit Payment Options.
7. Enter your new credit card information or edit the existing information.

Add or edit payment options when adding Microsoft Points

1. When you make a purchase from Xbox LIVE Marketplace, select Change Payment Option.
2. Select Add Credit Card or select an existing credit card, and then select Edit Payment Options.
3. Enter your new credit card information or edit the existing information.

Add or edit payment options from Xbox.com

1. Go to https://live.xbox.com/account (https://live.xbox.com/account) .
2. Sign in using your Windows Live ID credentials.
3. Under Account Information, click Edit Payment Options.
4. Click Add a new Credit Card, or click Edit next to your existing credit card.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Add PayPal to your Xbox LIVE account

1. Go to https://live.xbox.com/account (https://live.xbox.com/account) .
2. Sign in using your Windows Live ID credentials.
3. Under Account Information, click Edit Payment Options.
4. Click Add PayPal.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note You will need to have an existing PayPal account and your PayPal login and password to complete the process.

If you receive the following error message when adding PayPal, it means that the PayPal account you are trying to add is not supported:


Xbox LIVE only supports PayPal accounts which have a credit card or confirmed bank account as a funding source. You can add update your PayPal account or try using a different paypal account
