In Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, when you try to use the Create CD/DVD experience to create a CD or a DVD, you may receive the following error message:
INSERT MEDIA Please insert writeable media that is compatible with your CD or DVD recorder, and then select Retry. CAUSEThis problem may occur if either of the following conditions is true:

Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 adds support for additional drives, including the Matsushita DVD-RAM drive model UJ-846S. Without these updates installed, the UJ-846S drive will correctly recognize DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RAM discs. However, the drive will not recognize CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD+RW discs.
