MORE INFORMATION

The file format that is supported by the Xbox 360 console is "JPEG," which is the file format commonly used by digital cameras. Pictures must be in the JPEG format for the console to recognize them. Typically, these files have a file name extension of .jpg.

To view images by using the Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:
  1. In the My Xbox section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Picture Library.
  2. Select the picture source. After you select the appropriate picture source, you can preview the pictures.
  3. Select the picture that you want to view, and then press the A button.

    Notes
    • You can play your pictures in a slide show or move among different picture folders. You cannot copy pictures to your Xbox 360 console.
    • To start a slide show, press the Play button on the menu.
    • The console maintains the folder hierarchy of any attached storage device, computer, or CD/DVD.

When you use this option, you view the same images repeatedly.
    • Rotate image clockwise
    • Rotate image counterclockwise (anticlockwise)
You can view pictures on your Xbox 360 console in the following ways:
  • From a portable device
  • From another device on your home network
  • From a CD or from a DVD

View pictures from a portable device

To view pictures from a portable device on your Xbox 360 console, you must have a USB cable and a compatible portable device, such as a digital camera or a mass storage device. Also, you must have pictures in the correct file format. You view the pictures from the Picture Library section in the Xbox Dashboard.
Note Some cameras may appear from the Dashboard as portable devices and not as digital cameras. This behavior is by design. Cameras that use USB mass storage appear as portable devices.

View pictures from another device on your home network

You can stream pictures over your home network by using Microsoft Windows Media Player, the Zune software, or Microsoft Windows Media Center Extender. For more information about how to stream pictures over your home network, visit the following Web site:
