If you need a longer cable for your connection, you can buy an Ethernet coupler. An Ethernet coupler is a device that attaches two Ethernet cables together.

Note The maximum length for a single Ethernet cable including coupler is 100 meters or 328 feet. If you require an Ethernet cable that is longer than 100 meters, you must purchase a repeater. A repeater is an electronic device that connects two Ethernet cables and boosts the signal to let you extend beyond the 100-meter limit.

The following example shows the two typical connection paths that you can use when you have to use Internet Connection Sharing and two Ethernet cables to connect to a computer in another room.

•	If the console is less than 100 meters away from the computer, use the following sequence: • Network adapter in the computer -> Ethernet cable -> coupler -> Ethernet cable -> Xbox 360 console
•	If the console is more than 100 meters away from the computer, use the following sequence: • Network adapter in the computer -> Ethernet cable -> Repeater -> Ethernet cable -> Xbox console
