How to join an Xbox Live game on your Original Xbox console

This article describes how to join a game on Xbox Live with your Original Xbox console.

1. On the main screen, select Multiplayer or Xbox Live.
2. On the Xbox Live screen, select Quick Match or OptiMatch.

Quick Match

With the Quick Match option, you search for a game and then decide whether to join the game immediately or search for another game:

• After you select Quick Match, Xbox Live searches for a game.
  • If any games are found, select the game that you want to join.
  • If no games are found, you may be prompted to search again, or you may be automatically returned to the Xbox Live screen.

OptiMatch

With the OptiMatch option, you specify your game preferences and then search for games that match those preferences. To specify your game preferences for OptiMatch, follow these steps:

1. On the OptiMatch Options screen, select the options that you want to use to search for a game.
2. After you configure your options, search for a game.
   • If games are found, select the game that you want to join.
   • If no games are found, you may be prompted to search again, or you may automatically be returned to the OptiMatch screen.
