How to host an Xbox Live game on your Original Xbox console

This article describes how to host a game on Xbox Live on your Original Xbox console.

Host a game

1. On the Main screen, select Multiplayer or select Xbox Live.
2. On the Xbox Live screen, select Create Match.

Create a game session

When you create a game session, you become the host player, and then you can configure the properties for the match. To create a game session, follow these steps:

1. On the Create Match screen, select the options that you want to use for the hosted game.
2. After you configure the options, start the game.
3. Wait for players to join your game in the Lobby screen, or on the game play screen.

Invite a friend

You can invite friends to join your games. To invite friends, follow these steps:

1. On the Game Menu screen, select Friends List.
2. On the Friends List screen, select a friend who you want to join your game.
3. On the Individual Friend screen, select the appropriate option to send a game invitation to your friend.
