The text of the "Shut Down Windows" dialog box and the "Windows Security" dialog box does not appear in the language that you have set in the Multilingual User Interface Pack in Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2Article ID: 910366 On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. You have a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 (SP2). You have the Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) installed on the computer. You press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Security dialog box, and then you click Shut Down. In this scenario, the text of the Shut Down Windows dialog box does not appear in the language that you have set in the MUI. If you close the Shut Down Windows dialog box and the Windows Security dialog box, and then you reopen the Windows Security dialog box, the text in this dialog box also does not appear in the language that you have set in the MUI. The text does not appear in the correct language until you log off and log on again. Note If you open the Shut Down Windows dialog box by clicking Start and then clicking Shut Down, the text in the dialog box appears in the correct language. You may notice this problem after any one of the following actions occur:
CAUSE This problem occurs if the Ntdll.dll file, the Userenv.dll file, and the User32.dll file do not function correctly. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
