SUMMARY

This article lists the Microsoft COM+ bugs that are fixed in Microsoft Windows 2000 Post-Service Pack 4 (SP4) COM+ 1.0 Hotfix Rollup Package 35. Each hotfix rollup package contains all the fixes that were released in the previous Windows 2000 COM+ 1.0 hotfix rollup packages.

Issues that are fixed in this hotfix rollup package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix rollup package:
  • 911193  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911193/ ) FIX: COM+ applications may consume more CPU resources after you apply the MS04-012 security update to a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Professional
  • 899752  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899752/ ) FIX: Error message when you use the SaveChanges method to add a new transient subscription to the TransientSubscription collection in a COM+ application on Windows 2000: "Access is denied"
  • 900464  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900464/ ) FIX: The QueryInterface method fails when you query the ITransactionOptions interface
  • 903037  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903037/ ) FIX: The Remote Procedure Call service frequently stops responding when COM+ applications are running on Windows 2000
  • 910394  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910394/ ) FIX: The COM+ application may stop responding (hang) when the PingThread method stops prematurely in Microsoft COM+ 1.0
  • 910491  (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910491/ ) FIX: The MSDTC may crash and raise an access violation when the MSDTC experiences memory pressure in Windows 2000
The following issues are also fixed in this hotfix rollup package. These issues were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • An access violation occurs when you create and then release an object that has the following class identifier (CLSID):
    {E846F0A0-D367-11D1-8286-00A0C9231C29}
  • An access violation occurs when the CommunicationManager object is released.
  • An access violation occurs when the Clbcatq.dll file is loaded and all member variables are not correctly initialized.
  • An access violation occurs when the MTSEvents class is released and tries to free invalid memory resources.
