Article ID: 910544 - Last Review: November 22, 2006 - Revision: 2.2 BUG: You cannot repair or uninstall SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services after you uninstall and then reinstall Internet Information Services 6.0SYMPTOMSYou install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services,
and then you uninstall Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0. After
you reinstall IIS 6.0 and you try to uninstall SQL Server 2005 Reporting
Services, you may receive the following error message: The
setup failed to read IIsMimeMap table. The error code is -2147024893. CAUSEThis issue occurs because the uninstall program cannot run
correctly if the virtual directories for SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services are
not present. WORKAROUNDTo work around this issue, re-create the virtual directories
for SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services by using the Reporting Services
Configuration tool. After you re-create the virtual directories, you can
uninstall or repair the installation of SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
successfully. STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are
listed in the "Applies to" section.
