SYMPTOMS

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 does not correctly display an image when all of the following conditions are true:
You access the Web site that contains the image by using Citrix SpeedScreen technology through a Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) connection.
In the HTML code, the image tag (IMG) is within an anchor tag (A HREF).
The anchor tag is within an inline frame tag (IFRAME).

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

How to enable the hotfix

After you apply this hotfix, follow these steps to enable the hotfix.

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
1.Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2.In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_CUSTOM_IMAGE_MIME_TYPES_KB910561
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Name the new entry Iexplore.exe, and then press ENTER.
5. Double-click Iexplore.exe, type 1 in the Value data box, and the click OK.

Note You can type 0 in the Value data box to disable the hotfix.
