SUMMARY

This article contains information about firewall ports that you may have to open when you connect an Xbox 360 console to a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Media Connect.

MORE INFORMATION

Firewalls can prevent the console from communicating with the computer. If you are using Windows Firewall, the Setup program should open the correct ports for you.

However, if you are using another firewall, or if you have to troubleshoot an issue, you can manually open the ports.

The following table contains the firewall ports that you must open to enable communication between an Xbox 360 console and a computer that is running Windows Media Connect.
Note You want to open ports on the firewall that runs on the computer, not the router firewall.
