Advanced VoIP calling features are unavailable in Office Communicator 2005

SYMPTOMS

You try to use or to configure calling features in Microsoft Office Communicator 2005. When you do this, advanced Voice over IP (VoiP) calling features, such as transfer, are unavailable.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when Enable phone integration is not selected in the Options dialog box for Office Communicator.

RESOLUTION

To enable advanced VoIP calling features, you must enable telephone integration in Office Communicator 2005. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Office Communicator, click Options on the Actions menu.
  2. On the Accounts tab, click to select the Enable phone integration check box, and then click OK.
