You receive an error message when you try to save a rule in Microsoft Outlook

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Outlook, you decide to create a rule. During this process, you click to select the have server reply using a specific message check box. Then, you try to save the rule. However, the rule is not saved as you expect. Additionally, you receive one of the following error messages, depending on your installation of Outlook.

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
One or more rules could not be uploaded to Exchange server and have been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules.
Microsoft Outlook 2002 and Microsoft Outlook 2000
There is insufficient space to store all of your rules.

CAUSE

This issue may occur when the following conditions are true:
The Outlook profile contains a Microsoft Exchange folder.
The Outlook profile contains a personal folders (.pst) file.
Incoming e-mail messages are delivered to the .pst file.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
2.Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
3.In the Deliver new e-mail to the following location box, click the appropriate Microsoft Exchange folder, and then click Finish.
