SUMMARY

This article describes why some games that have the same title are not compatible with one another.

MORE INFORMATION

Some game publishers specifically design games to work exclusively with the original Xbox console or with the Xbox 360 console. Some of these games even have the same title. Because the game publishers design these games for a specific platform, the games are not compatible with one another. This means that a user who has an original Xbox game cannot play a system link or an Xbox Live multiplayer game with another user who has an Xbox 360 version of the same game.

The following is a partial list of games that have the same game title, but were designed to work specifically with the original Xbox platform or with the Xbox 360 platform.
Note This is not a comprehensive list of game titles. This is just a small example of game titles. New Xbox and Xbox 360 game titles with the same name may be available in the future but will not appear on this list.
College Hoops 2K6
Gun
Madden NFL 06
NBA 2K6
NBA Live 2006
Need for Speed Most Wanted
