INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Microsoft Office Word 2003 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 16, 2005.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue.
  • 912011 Error message when you try to open a Word 2003 document that is stored on a Windows SharePoint Services site or on a SharePoint Portal Server 2003 site: "Permission for this document is currently restricted"
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • Consider the following scenario. You click Save as on the File menu to save a Word 2003 document. In the Save as type box, you click Word 97-2003 & 6.0/95 - RTF (*.doc). After you save the document, you point to Send To on the File menu and then click Mail Recipient (as Attachment). Then, you send the e-mail message that contains the document as an attachment. In this scenario, the recipient cannot open the attached document because the document's file extension (.doc) is missing.
