When you try to connect to Microsoft Office Online from a Microsoft Office 2003 program, the Office 2003 program may stop responding.

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
| • | The computer that you are using to connect to the Office Online Web site is behind Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004. |
| • | The proxy settings for the ISA Server 2004 are not configured correctly. |
Note This issue may also occur with other third-party proxy server programs.

To resolve this issue, turn on the
Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections setting in
Internet Options. To do this, follow these steps:
| 1. | Start Microsoft Internet Explorer. |
| 2. | Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. |
| 3. | Click the Advanced tab, and then click to select the Use HTTP 1.1 check box under HTTP 1.1 settings. |
| 4. | Click to select the Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections check box under HTTP 1.1 settings, and then click OK. |
| 5. | Visit the Office Online Web site to verify that the issue is resolved. |
If the issue is not resolved, follow these steps.
Note After you follow these steps, you must quit and then restart the Office 2003 programs for the changes to take effect.
| 1. | Start Microsoft Internet Explorer. |
| 2. | Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. |
| 3. | Click the Advanced tab, and then click to clear the Use HTTP 1.1 check box under HTTP 1.1 settings. |
| 4. | Click to clear the Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections check box under HTTP 1.1 settings, and then click OK. |
| 5. | Visit the Office Online Web site to verify that the issue is resolved. |
